In the last decade, Girona has become the European center for English speaking cyclists in the peloton, and their home during the season.
Prior to the Tour de France the best North American cyclists will be training on the roads around Girona as they prepare for the race.

The quiet, peaceful and challenging terrain is ideal for training and the relaxed atmosphere in the picturesque and culturally rich town of Girona makes it the perfect place to live.

We invite you to Girona from July 5-12, to see and experience the 2009 Tour de France as it passes through the city and ride for one week in the Catalan countryside.
Rarely does the Tour come to Spain which makes the experience all the more exciting and unique for the riders and the spectators. As many of the North Americans will be racing into their hometown, they will be motivated to show up in yellow, win a stage, and perform well on roads they know, in front of their friends and family.

Girona is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We will ride in the mountains, through the rolling hills and to the Mediterranean coast over the roads that many of the American professionals train on throughout the year. This trip will be guided by Dede_Barry, a 2004 Olympic Games medalist and wife of Team Columbia professional, Michael Barry.

We will stay in the heart of the old town of Girona, the Barri Vell at the 4 star Hotel Llegendes de Girona and feast on local Catalan cuisine and culture.
