BikeCat and VadeVi are organizing this very special tour in Catalonia to some of the best vineyards in Spain.

We have prepared a trip of 8 days/7 nights with 6 riding days. We will spend the first day in Barcelona, then head down to Sitges, a picturesque fishing village, to ride and explore the nearby Penedès and Cava region. The contrast of flavors and landscapes will come on our next stay. A spectacular hotel will be our home for the Priorat and Montsant areas.

And to further your experience, the Bikecat classics: we will bring you to taste our finest local cuisine. Meticulously selected restaurants along our itinerary and relaxing dinners at the end of the day are the perfect choice for this unforgettable tour.

The Riding

Over the years, and since I was a boy, the monasteries of La Ruta del Cister and the Montsant-Prades mountain ranges always impressed and captivated my imagination. Feeling like an explorer, I found these mystic places after crossing virgin woodlands and mountains.

Years later, our growing interest for wine brought us there. Having trained and raced there in the past, the combination of riding to discover the area and these hidden treasures is just something we had to do.

Now we have put together this tour for both cyclists and wine lovers. Join us with your friends or group for this unique experience.

We will ride from the Mediterranean coast to the extensive vineyards inland, where CAVA is produced. Visit some of the most reknowned caves and Penedès vineyards.

Long and challenging rides will lead us to the Montsant and Priorat areas. The remote roads will be our door to exploration and the villages and monasteries on our way will guide us in the ancient history. The untamed hills and landscapes of the region will tell us about the properties of its wine.

The Wine

Wine has been cultivated here since pre-Roman times and has withstood sieges by the Barbarians, the Moors and the phylloxera plague of the 19th century. Now with recent international fame coming to the quiet towns of the wine country, you can have a chance to visit the cellars before any touches of modernity reach these terroirs. Talk to the local agriculturalists and winemakers who run all areas of the business and watch the twinkle in their eye as you taste the wines.
